Calculate how many 5-star reviews you need to improve your average Google rating and plan your next steps.
Understand the math behind your Google rating.
Google calculates the average of all submitted ratings. A single 5-star review has only a small effect when a profile already has many reviews.
The formula is: needed = current_reviews × (target - current) / (5 - target). The higher the current rating, the more 5-star reviews may be needed.
When a profile has few reviews, each new rating changes the average more significantly. That makes it important to start collecting positive reviews early.
Google considers more than the average star rating. Review volume and recency also matter, so regular new reviews are at least as important as the average itself.
